Technology and Engagement: Making Technology Work for First Generation College Students

The presenters will discuss the conclusions drawn from a two-year research project aimed at improving the transition and engagement of first-generation college students (FGCS) through the use of Web 2.0 technology. The project was firmly committed to understanding and engendering educational equity for FGCS, and will be published in the forthcoming book, Technology and Engagement: Making Technology Work for First Generation College Students. The study's findings and recommendations for practice will be presented.
