Supervision Across Racial Identities: Tools for Identity Conscious Practices

PC 07 A

Most student affairs professionals supervise at some point in their career, but rarely receive skill building around supervision and management. Professional development is often focused on skill building in functional areas yet often ignores the lived experiences of microaggressions, discrimination, and hostility in the workplace that prevent learning and growth. This full day workshop will seek to redefine supervision to include skill building, learning new framework, and a shift to identity sensitve supervision utilizing an identity-conscious framework.
