From Foster Care to College: Finding a Family on Campus

Many higher education institutions maintain a systematic assumption that students have the support of a caring family as they pursue a degree. For students with experience in foster care or situations that threaten their family relationship, there may be few supportive adults they can rely on for help navigating the complexities of college life. The presenter will share the supportive adults that shaped their college experience, how they inspired the presenter to be an "adultier adult" for students today, and strategies you can apply on your campus.
