#CampusCrisis: Using Social Media Engagement Strategies in Theory & Practice

Social media has confounded university crisis communicators because of its generational divide, its viral nature, concerns about reliability, and lack of resources. However, it is used by a growing number of students, parents, faculty, and administrators, many of whom expect immediate and ongoing activity during a crisis. This presentation will not only provide a framework for social media crisis communication and engagement, but also offer an experiential simulation where practitioners can hone their skills.
