NASPA
2018 NASPA Annual Conference

Housing and List Buying Scam Alert

 |   |

Large conferences and events often become targets for companies seeking to take advantage of the attendees. Some of our members have recently reported to us that they’ve been contacted by third party companies for a number of reasons including offering to sell our attendee list to them.

NASPA does not sell the attendee list for our annual conference to any third-party companies or list brokers. These solicitations are simply an attempt to confirm your email address and get your credit card information. We are working with our legal representation to combat this issue.

In addition, there are several third-party companies who have contacted members and exhibitors to book hotel accommodations through their companies.

These third-party “pirate” companies create websites and email solicitations offering special discounted hotel rooms for other associations’ meetings. They use web domain names and email addresses that look similar to the official versions for the conference. Often, these discounted rooms do not exist. The primary objective of this solicitation is to obtain your credit card information.

Experient is our exclusive housing provider. NASPA has no affiliation with any other company and cannot guarantee rates or accommodations made through these companies. All correspondence received from Experient regarding housing for the 100th NASPA Annual Conference will come from naspa@experient-inc.com.

If you have any doubt about the information that you are receiving regarding the NASPA Annual Conference, please email or call us: (202) 265-7500 or office@naspa.org.
