Accessibility, All Gender Restrooms and Nursing Areas
Some important details regarding accessibility, all gender restrooms, and nursing areas at 2018 NASPA Annual Conference in Philadelphia.
Requests for accommodations were available during the registration process. Should any additional questions or needs arise, visit the Accessibility Counter in the Convention Center, Broad Street Atrium, during all registration hours. The Accessibility Counter will be staffed by a NASPA Disability Knowledge Community representative, and NASPA staff members will also be available for assistance at registration and the NASPA Onsite Office in the Convention Center, Hall G.
All shuttles will stop at the convention center’s Arch St. entrance between 12th St. and 13th St. ADA shuttles can be reached by phone at 1-866-439-8564. Please budget in 30 minutes for your commute. Not all hotels are on the ADA shuttle route, please consult the full ADA shuttle bellow.
General use shuttles will be available during the sessions and receptions on Monday and Tuesday. One of the two shuttles from each loop will be ADA accessible. The Marriott to Sheraton loop runs from 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m., the convention center to Sheraton Loop from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
ALL GENDER RESTROOMS
An all gender restroom designation means this restroom is open and safe for people of all gender identities and expressions, including those who identify as trans, transgender, gender non-conforming, and genderqueer. These restrooms are clearly marked as “all gender” and not male or female.
All gender restrooms are located in the Convention Center on the 100 level closest to room 117 (from February 27 - March 7) and room 123 (from March 5 - March 7). These facilities are also located on the 400 level outside Terrace Ballroom IV (from March 3 - March 7).
Private nursing areas will be available at the convention center during all program hours. A Mamava nursing pod will be located near the registration area on the Terrace Level. The convention center nursing room is located between the Broad St. and Arch St. entrances.
